What to Expect:

Discover the expressive possibilities of drawing with soft pastels and oil pastels. Sitting somewhere between drawing and painting, these versatile materials allow you to work with line, color, and texture in direct and intuitive ways. From delicate tonal studies to luminous color and painterly surfaces, pastel offers a rich range of visual possibilities.

Through guided exercises and observational drawing projects, we will explore how light, color, and mark-making can be used to create form, atmosphere, and expressive intensity. Working on a variety of papers and surfaces, you will experiment with different approaches and discover the unique qualities of both soft and oil pastels.

Pastels offer a direct and approachable way of working with color. Whether you are interested in careful observation or more expressive forms of drawing, this workshop will help you gain confidence with the materials while developing your own way of seeing and drawing.

Each session includes demonstrations, guided practice, and individual feedback tailored to your level.
